About LAKE ZIMA
Covering 600 hectares, it is made up of a basin surrounded by hills and fed with salt water by a shallow underground circulation coming from the groundwater of the Chemaia plain. After having undergone a saturation in the passage of the clusters of salt, these waters come to reappear at the bottom of the basin. They are recovered by pumping for evaporation in the basins. From December to March, many pink flamingos are attracted by a rare species, Ol'artmia shrimp, living in this lake.
