About BEFORE SAHARAN POST
These are two gigantic white dromedaries that welcome the visitor to the entrance of the city ... Already, to the south of Guelmim to 125 km, it is a huge desert reg that must be crossed to reach Tan Tan. The crossing of the Draâ river really marks the end of the Anti Atlas, symbolizing geographically the arrival in the Sahara of southwestern Morocco. For the adventurers, a ford exists 8 km from the cape to cross this river on which Pliny the elder said in his 'Natural History' that 'Flumen Darat' was filled with crocodiles. After a laborious race of nearly 500 km across the northern Moroccan Sahara, the Draa, finally in water, crisscrossed between the dunes to complete its journey in the Atlantic.
