Ouarzazate Welcomes A Delegation Of Spanish Journalists For The Promotion Of Tourism To This Destination

A delegation of Spanish journalists visited Ouarzazate from 23 to 26 March, in the context of the promotion of tourism to this destination.

The visit was organised by the Provincial Council of Tourism of Ouarzazate in partnership with the Communal Council of Ouarzazate and also in coordination with the National Association of Professional Journalists in Marrakech and the Union of Spanish Journalists. The visit aimed at promoting the importance of the potential of the province of Ouarzazate, particularly the Ksar of Ait Benhaddou and the Kasbah of Taourirt, the oases of Skoura and Fint, the museum and the film studios as well as the hotel and leisure facilities.

This visit followed the participation of the Provincial Council of Tourism of Ouarzazate in January 2019 at the 39th edition of the International Tourism Fair of Madrid (Fitur Madrid 2019) in Spain, an event that saw a direct meeting between Mr. Rahou Belghazi President of the Provincial Council of Tourism of Ouarzazate and the representative of the Union of Spanish Journalists in Madrid. During the meeting, the two parties agreed to promote the destination of Ouarzazate to Spanish citizens and to consolidate the growth recorded in this market which has seen an increase in terms of arrivals of 9% at the end of November 2018 compared to the same period in 2017.

In addition, the Spanish delegation made visits to tourist establishments (hotels, guest houses, restaurants) in order to better communicate the tourist potential of the province of Ouarzazate.
