Settat

ABOUT SETTAT

Want to discover Settat? There are a thousand and one ways to do so. One can say that it is not like Agadir or Marrakech, but it retains a place for quality eco-tourism.

Its tourism resources are certainly limited, but the sector is rapidly expanding.

It has much potential. First of all, there are abundant water points, the Al Massira dam having a capacity of 2.8 billion m3. The forest area is also very important for the promotion of tourism.

With its 178,000 ha of forest, many touristic activities could be launched there. Settat is a city and commune in Morocco.

It is located in the geographical and historical region of Chaouia, 57km from Casablanca on the road to Marrakech. Its population is 250,000.

This city also has some ancient infrastructure including the Kasbah which makes it an historic city and also some dunes whose importance is indisputable.

A LPEE study has shown that the existence of these dunes makes it impossible for salt water from the sea to infiltrate the water table.

As for urban tourism, there is the huge golf circuit still preserved from mass tourism, a great advantage for ecotourists and those looking to discover the real Moroccan identity in the areas around.
