Want to discover Fez? There are a thousand and one ways to do so. The imperial city is the capital of Morocco’s traditional culture. A font of knowledge, its superb madrassas are its flamboyant symbol.

This fortified city, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will take you back to the Middle Ages.

Located inside the medina, the entrance to the Bab Boujeloud district is made through its huge door built in 1913 and decorated with blue and green tiles, the colours of the city.

Inside this district, visitors can visit the Bar Batah museum, which brings together the city's arts and traditions. It is situated in the palace of the same name, erected during the 19th century.

The Madrassa Bou Inania, a Koranic school, has a richly ornamented architecture.

Built in the middle of the 14th century, this madrassa was part of the process of revitalising the city by the Merinid dynasty.

Tourists can also stroll along Talaa Kebira Avenue, one of the longest in the city which is dotted with boutiques and shops.
