ABOUT AL HAOUZ
The tourist potential of Al Haouz is clear as it has cultural, historical and natural assets which are opening up major prospects for development.
All of its tourist activities and events have been able to establish an image of a natural, cultural and sporting destination that cannot be ignored in a stop right next to Marrakech.
The province of Al Haouz is located in the south-east of the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region. It covers an area of 6,612 km².
It is bordered by the prefecture of Marrakech and the provinces of El Kelaâ des Sraghna and Rehamna to the north, the province of Azilal to the east, the provinces of Taroudant and Ouarzazate to the south and the province of Chichaoua to the west.
The province of Al Haouz is of particular interest under the "Green Morocco Plan" with the implementation of several important projects under its "Pillar II" relating to support for small-scale agriculture.
Natural resources and endowments in human capital offer real potential for the development of the handicraft sector.
This sector can benefit from positive synergies linked to agricultural and tourism activities. Crafts in the province of Al Haouz involve a wide variety of sectors ranging from pottery to textiles and include stone carving and carpets.
